Trust: Listening to the Body and Following the Call
A reflection on trust, intuition, and embodied wisdom through yoga, women’s circles, and retreat life. Learning to listen to the body and follow the soul’s call.
As a numerological year comes to an end, I find myself in reflection.
While many mark the new year on the 1st of January, in my own practice I experience the beginning of a new cycle at the Winter Solstice. This feels more honest to me — more aligned with the Earth. The light slowly returns, yet we are still held in darkness. A time to honour what has been, while quietly planting seeds for what is to grow.
This year — 2025 — asked a lot of me.
It was challenging, heavy, and full of loss and letting go.
(You can read more about that journey here.)
And yet, beneath all of it, something powerful was growing.
At every women’s circle I held, I made the same promise to myself:
I trust my intuition. I will not betray my intuition.
Each time I repeated it, I planted that seed again. Over time, it rooted itself deeply. What began as a fragile intention grew into a strong, steady tree of trust within me — one that carried me through the difficulties, the grief, and the uncertainty.
I came to understand, not intellectually but somatically, that everything was happening for my growth. For my becoming. For shedding what was no longer aligned. For stepping into who I am here to be.
Trust, for me, lives in the body.
When I am connected deeply enough, I don’t need to overthink. I ask — and I hear. I follow her calling. I move with the vibration of my body rather than the noise of my mind.
I trust.
This numerological year ends for me in Morocco, where I am leading yoga retreats in a quiet, earthy retreat centre — far from comfort, far from the conveniences of Western life. No deliveries. No sourdough. No oat milk cappuccinos on demand. If you want a matcha, you take a local bus that arrives in its own time and travel for half an hour.
There is simplicity here. And truth.
When the opportunity came, my body responded immediately. Loudly. Clearly. I felt the vibration before my mind could catch up. Of course, the mind tried — offering reasons to stay comfortable, to remain where things were familiar.
But I had made a promise.
I would not betray my body or my soul.
So I followed.
And I have no regrets.
The more I surrender to trust, the more peace I feel. The more certain I am that I am exactly where I am meant to be. Fear doesn’t lead anymore — trust does. And with it comes a deep sense of support, as if life itself is meeting me halfway.
I don’t know what comes next.
But I know this: the universe will respond — and my role is to listen, trust, and follow.
This feeling of being content within myself has been a long time coming. Being with myself, guided by my heart rather than external expectations, opinions, or old patterns of seeking approval. Seeing this clearly now feels like relief.
That is trust — fundamental and irreversible.
The more I tune into my body, the clearer her voice becomes. My yoga and somatic practices support me because I am devoted to them. What is met with care returns with care.
Trust is not passive.
It is a daily, embodied practice.
Practices for Building Trust in the Body
Trust is not something we think ourselves into — it is something we practice.
Some of the tools that continue to support me:
Daily body check-ins
Pausing to ask my body: What do I feel? What do I need right now?Slow, intentional movement
Letting sensation lead rather than shape or performance.Breath awareness
Especially during moments of doubt — the breath never lies. Simple practice, close eyes, connect to breath and its quality. If in a moment of stress and out of alignment, even the breath out and ask a question again.Writing intentions cyclically
Working with seasons, moon phases, and numerology rather than linear timelines. Choose one that suits you and follow it.Women’s circles and shared witnessing
Being seen and reflected strengthens inner trust, feeling held and seen without judgement is the most empowering moving tool.Choosing discomfort over misalignment
Trust grows when we stop choosing what’s familiar and start choosing what’s true.Gratitude
Practice gratitude for good and bad, universe loves our sense of awareness and replies accordingly.
Patience
The most important practice in between the trust, coz if you know that its the truth of trust then patiently attend knowing it will happen when it has to happen.
Flexebilty
Being ready to let go when the universe shows it in other way, do not cling on, create space when needed.
